I want to just hold the little stinker. On May 6th we had our ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby. Unfortunately, the little stinker would not stop moving and dancing around. Just like Papa! On the way there Mark had the music blasting because he wanted to see the baby move. Well his wish came true. Since she was moving so much they couldn't get measurements of the bones, heart, brain and a good look at the facial features to make sure everything looked ok. She did say if she were to guess that she would guess a little girl. But that was a huge guess. We had to reschedule another ultrasound appointment 3 weeks later May 27th. Its crazy how much bigger the baby had gotten in 3 weeks. She was moving around but not like the first time. We found out we are having a baby GIRL!!!! :) The tech was able to get measurements of everything and everything looked great! On June 8th I had my monthly appointment with my Dr. They took my blood pressure and it was extremely high. I was there for about an hour and a half and rechecked my blood pressure about 4 times. It kept going up and up! I could tell the nurse was concerned but tried not to show it. My doctor wanted me to come back on Friday and get it rechecked. I made my appointment for first thing in the morning to see if work was the issue. My blood pressure was still really high but not as much as it was that Wednesday. The nursed was concerned and called my doctor. Apparently they found protein in my urine that week as well. Which high blood pressure and protein in urine is a HUGE sign for Pre-eclampsia. Also, since Jenny (sister) had Pre-eclampsia when she was pregnant. Dr. Williams wanted me to go on bed rest ASAP and do a 24 hour urine sample and take blood to check my kidneys. I think this made my blood pressure go sky high! This news made me very very scared! If I was positive for Preeclampsia, Mark and I would have an early baby. Obviously its way way to early for her to join the world. Since Jenny has been through this and had Mariah really early due to pre-eclampsia, she was very very worried along with my mom. I stayed in bed all weekend and it was very hard. Without checking with my doctor I went to work that Monday. I couldn't stay in bed one more day. I received an email from my Dr. that Tuesday saying that I had to do another 24 hour urine test. I did not get results till Friday afternoon. My doctor emailed me and said good news... No preeclampsia YET... I was diagnosed with Gestational Hypertension. Which is pretty much the same as Preeclampsia but not to that extend. She said that I am high risk pregnancy and have a high chance of getting preeclampsia sooner or later. There is no way to control it. I do not have to be on bed rest... I just need to get lots of rest and not overdo myself. When I googled Gestational Hypertension...what I read did not seem good at all. I am just trying to keep my hopes up.
Yesterday was Fathers Day. I made Mark breakfast... egg and cheese sandwich and fresh fruit. Of course he had to put ketchup on the sandwich...YUCK! I gave him his Fathers Day gift... He gave me a Willow Tree figurine for Mothers Day and I wanted to do something as special and meaningful. I bought him the "New Dad" Willow Tree figurine. We got ready and went to his parents house for lunch. We had a wonderful steak and red potato lunch. It was soooo goood! It was Greg, Sandy, Matt, Mark, Burt, Clara and myself. We received horrible news... we could tell something was wrong with his grandfather Burt. He was having trouble breathing and walking. He looked very skinny and could barely eat. Sandy and Greg waiting till Clara and Burt left to tell us what was going on. Apparently, Burt has not been feeling well for a couple months now. Recently they found a lump in Grandpa's lungs. They are not sure its cancer or just scare tissue. He is having a biopsy done this Wednesday. I feel very close to Marks grandfather. I just love him so much! He reminds me of my Grandpa Homan. I got very very emotional with the news! These past couple weeks have been very hard for me and allot to take in. I just pray that everything is ok with Burt. He is or will be 91. He has lived a full long happy wonderful life. Its all in God's hands now. I just pray that his pain will go away and he can be healthy again!!! I am just so happy and feel so honored I got to spend Fathers Day with someone so special to my heart.
After lunch we proceeded to our next adventure of the day...Kaydens 4th birthday party picnic. We had fun! It was hard to not think of Burt the entire time. Kayden absolutely loved our gift (spongebob tennis racket). Apparently he loved it so much he has to sleep with it that night! :) That made me soo happy!
Overall, our Fathers Day was wonderful and so happy we got to spend it with our family!!
